Quick Tip #12
When the Policy Changes...

When you make updates and addendums to your business policy and procedure book, you must have your current employees sign ANOTHER acknowledgement page. This page will cover you for the changes in policies and proves that you alerted your employees of that change. This is a important step for your organization to protect itself from employee law suits. Keep all signed acknowledgement pages in your employee files until the employee has terminated with your company and through the safe keeping period.

Business Quick Tip #11

Quick Tip #11
Always have them Sign the Dotted Line...

Remember, as it relates to your policies and procedures manual, it does not exist to your employees, if you do not have them sign an acknowledgement page. This sheet just acknowledges that your employee had the opportunity to view the company policies and procedures. It doesn't state that they agree with them, just that they are aware they exist. This has to be a prerequisite for working with your organization. If the employee does not sign, in a legal preceding they could simply state that they were not aware of the rule they violated. How do you prove they were aware? This signed form should stay on file for as long as you have paperwork on the employee.

Quick Tip #10
Don't let Grass Grow Underneath your Business Policies...

When it comes to your policy and procedure manual, it should be a fluid document for your business. Laws change, new advancements happen, we should always be prepared to tweak our company rules. An organization should review their policies and procedudres at least yearly to stay fresh and adept with the new laws. If you are still working with a policy book from 1990, its time for a checkup! Remember we can do a FREE checkup of your policies at Epiphany Consulting, just email us at oginga@epiphanyconsulting.biz.

Quick Tip #8
Seek Partners on your Social Media Strategy

I think the old Western Union Commercial said it best when it channeled Dean Martin... "Everybody needs somebody sometime"... It's not different with your businesses social media strategy. There are a few different ways to boost your social media if you are not adept at marketing through the web.

1st, There is the option of delegating the duty to an employee who is more versed in social media. The only issue with this approach is the fact that you will still have to learn and monitor the situation so that you can monitor the direction of the plan.

2nd, You could hire an ad agency to handle your social media plan. The drawback of this is the sheer cost of working with an ad agency on this topic.

3rd, You can hire a virtual assistant to help you with the process. This is like the best of both worlds. A virtual assistant should be considerably less than an ad agency, and also should approach your project from a strategic standpoint to work with your organization. Virtual assistants can be surpisingly affordable. Here is the website of a great one that our company partners with. www.hireshai.com
